Sense of achievement fairly high today!

Got the muckshift volumes sorted this evening for dave. Just need to dump all defects work onto mark now, get bits and bobs of nov work complete and also mark up a 'level control' drawing for matty and his muck shift.

Working sat and sun had been advantageous for nov progress but I may have underestimated how much can be achieved by the dryliners, tapers, labourers and joiners from Friday afternoon to sun afternoon.

I really need to get my DO's written up so they can be signed off by papa smurf before the Christmas break (and I leave to go to arup!!!!)

Must also make a list of all the things I want to get done over the Christmas holiday.

Lads night out

Currently in the pool, taking Adam back to Sheffield tomorrow for a lads night out in Sheffield......not sure how it will turn out but no doubt it will be interesting!

Sense of achievement is quite high at the moment but work is rather shit (papa smurf is not very well and w seems to think he's working hard) but I was quite impressed to hear that we will be having the full two weeks of Xmas off.

Jack really has oases off the team, I think he is probably a true reflection of what engineers are like (along with Kin an hamish) and me m and m are too forgiving and flexible.

Defects meeting with smithy today....I didn't leave work until 6:45 today, it feels like I've been doing Warwicks work today. Defects schedule bastardised from debra's shot schedule!

Yesterday I bought an ork battleforce and a box of Burma boyz......at full price from meadowhell gw. Was a big of an impulse buy but I need to paint up some more orks, I love my imperial troops but the irks are just so more my thing!

Theres a lovely theme between the death korps and the death skullz.....both name and they ate both scavengers. The orks liberate fancy equipment and the krieg quartermasters salvage equipment for the next honoury guardsmen to die in/using!

Yesterdays phone call with Jp unearthed a lot of things I should have told w a long time ago. I told w all the things I told Jp, he took it better than I thought. Can't be two faced in construction....but w should raise his game to stay with icl to keep pace. He won't resign because that would be an admission of guilt he will follow his 'legal advice' and sit tight.

I will not let my ambitions slip or lower to there level. Jp is right I must get used to the way they work.....must work harder, better and nit end up on no rises like Jp...ride out the storm, come out the other side very employable!

Prison zombie!!!!!

I think this isn't favourite zombie so far!!!!!!

Grey skin washed with devlin mud is very simple and effective, the other zombies I have done have been green....to orknlike for my liking.




Very simple dirty paint job but it's just what I'm after! These will form traitor guard conscripts and will be used for small skirmish game to take on 5-6 veteran imperial guard custodians (I have a sacrificial box of cadians that can be used for this!)

Turbulent week

Planty conducted an investigation into our demo actions at lwa this week....it would seem that I have been absolved of any involvement. I told Marty that ripping the slab up would be the best option for the job but that wouldn't be valid if all demo had been stopped by the health and safety department! Ws showed no spine and tried remorselessly to cover his own arse. He won't be disciplined for carrying on demo after being stopped, he'll be fucked for not managing his job effectively....he puts too much on his subordinates and doesn't do enough himself. He believed if necessary away on the day then he couldn't be to blame.....shows his stupidity and lack of professionalism.

Bought a new SPF shell jacket and bodywarmer for work, £60 from b and q....nice to look the part when peg bashing!

I have just spent £292.50 on death korps of krieg models from forge world!!!!!!!

I've got:

Inf squad
Inf squad
3x heavy weapons
Grenadier squad (vets)
Engineer squad (storm troopers)
5 death riders

The idea is to have the praetorians finished before Xmas, the genestealer brood speed painted as and when and completely ignore the lizardmen!!!!!

The krieg are expensive but hopefully worth the effort! Spending so much was worth the saving on postage (12% of order cost).

As title!




Some of the models do not have enough dull coat varnish, the tops of the shoulders are a little shiny....but their done!!!!

Now considering getting some death korps of krieg to go with my 28mm wargames factory zombies....just a platoon command squad for now though.
By my calculations a 500 point krieg list would be £170.

Also need to get the 58th praetorians done before Xmas.....eight weeks should be enough(?)

October 1/2 term

W said that if the snags are not complete the engineers would face disciplinary action, he also said he was not going to defend us (he really is a self serving prick).

The ic de snagged on Monday, Thursday and Friday. We are now down to 7 snags (3 of which are render). This does not include beds inboards or whiteboards but Phil didn't seem to care about the furniture snags. Hopefully Phil will be back to de snag early next week so the whole project can be put to bed. I do not want any further involvement with lwa phase 1.

Not sure what to think about going to arups in jan, rather than November, I really don't want to work for this team anymore...but then again, any other site will be no different.

Image change

I think it's time to start changing my image....it is Approx 12 months until I go for my professional review and I think I need a change of attitude. This will be a slow process but will be based upon maintaining that sense of achievement and havin pride in what I do (and who i am).

I need to be more responsible with money, making it work harder for me; spending it when necessary. A good example being the purchase of some new boots for winter.

I look forward to my time in a design office...time to hone that professional attitude that will hopefully define my career.

6mm Vietnam might be cool just for having lots of helicopters nipping around.....relies heavily on scenery however. 6mm ancients is also an option, long lines of Romans and millions of celts....very 'gladiator'.

Blood angels update

Painted the rhino tonight....surprisingly easy! Got to love the free hand painted yellow blood drop on the hatch, never tried anything like that before. Every blood angel is ready for the dip! Rhino will be washed, not dipped.












Considering tau battleforce for my next army, definitely won't be buying it before moving house though! Perhaps I should ignore the lizardmen for quite a while...wfb looks alot more complex than 40k and I struggle with the 40k rules!!!!

All the basecoat is done, the decals are on so the blood angels are ready for the dip and spin! Some of the decals however have questionable glue! Hopefully the decal varnish dip will stick them on forever!!!!

I think my next set of dipped bids will have dark(ish) blue carapace and dipped brown skin. The red looks s bit shit on my space hulk nids

May have the space hulk bids and the hive tyrant as two separate 'armies'. Possibly do the aecond batch with crushed screed bases to go with the blood angels?

2nd lizardmen prototype

2nd prototype painted up from a black undercoat. Like this one more than the first. This technique is more reliable than using the washes to build up the skintone. Once the blood angels are done I will start proper on the lizardmen. Hopefully have the lizardmen finished before Christmas.

Annual review

Just been told by Graham that I don't fulfill all the requirements of senior engineer. He has recommended to Gareth that my graduate title be removed. I may become a site engineer (but nothing more)

This definitely a company and industry that has a time served attitude

I believe I have been aiming to become chartered without realising that attaining it will bring no reward.

But there is no where else for me to go.....

Today I got the white scars terminators completed. Next I will work on the scout bike squad with chaplain ( these have been undercharge black so shall be a little different to the white scars I have painted upto now)

Not the best paint job but the army as a whole should look very striking!

Get the rest of the White scars finished after Jamaica and then move onto the blood angels strike force....and then the lizardmen.....and then complete the praetorians.....and then do the Tyranid horde.......and then snag the orks!

This week I've learnt the importance of needing to get things finished. I don't have the ability to manage so many packages, in the required detail, so I must get things finished and not let them drag on. They just eat up time and prevent progressive focus on following trades and tasks.

Full survey of all Tarmac to be completed next week and printed a0 at service point....will be good to have been set a challenge and given a deadline to complete it by.
Currently at stream harden building a fire and enjoying the sun.....sense of achievement is not the highest at the moment, but I need to work in simplifying my outlook on life and focusing on a task in hand....this will make it easier to have that sense of achievement
